It was a little after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday the 9th of September. Jesse Estrada, Jr. was returning home from a friend’s house carrying a borrowed telephone answering machine. As Estrada and his buddy neared #9 Kenneth Avenue a group of males aggressively approached the pair. During the brief but intense confrontation one of the males in the group began shooting. This Hispanic male fired several rounds from a small caliber weapon.

One of those rounds resulted in a fatal wound to the head of 16 year old Jesse Estrada, Jr. The victim died 2 days later.

A Hispanic male in his late teens is reported to be the shooter. Witnesses indicate the shooter was wearing a mask. When the barrage of bullets stopped, the young Hispanic removed the mask, black baseball type cap and placed it in his backpack along with the gun. This exposed his shaved head.

The entire group of Hispanic males wore black baseball type caps, black jackets – some with gray stripes along the sleeve, dark pants and white shoes. Three of the group had moustache/goatee combinations. All of the males had black hair.
